SNS Director blames Finance Ministry for hiring delays

The director of the National Health Service (SNS), Álvaro Almeida, acknowledged that there are plans to hire more health professionals that are pending authorization from the Ministry of Finance.

According to Álvaro Almeida, the plans that would allow strengthening SNS teams with more professionals are dependent on government authorization to move forward.

The SNS head also admitted that there is a long delay in the approval of these hiring plans.

This situation arises in the context of difficulties faced by the Portuguese SNS in terms of human resources, with multiple vacancies to be filled in various health institutions.
