Aguiar-Branco may block Chega's inquiry into Neves

The president of the Assembly of the Republic, Aguiar-Branco, may block the parliamentary inquiry requested by Chega about the Minister of Internal Administration, Fernando Neves. The decision comes at a moment of political tension between the Chega party and the executive.

Aguiar-Branco identified "insufficiencies" in the request submitted by Chega for the establishment of an inquiry committee. The president of parliament considered that the document does not meet the necessary requirements to proceed.

André Ventura's party will now have to reformulate the object and grounds of the request for an inquiry committee. Without this reformulation, the process will not be able to move forward in parliament.

Chega's request aims to investigate possible irregularities in the actions of the Minister of Internal Administration. The far-right party intends to clarify issues related to the management of Fernando Neves at the head of the department.
