Micaela Freitas, regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection, stated this morning that "protecting those who care is protecting those who need care," during the opening session of the 1st 'Security and Health' Meeting. The event was promoted by the Regional Command of the PSP in collaboration with SESARAM.
The official defended permanent coordination between Health and the PSP, based on four fundamental pillars: prevention, proximity, clear procedures and rapid response.
Micaela Freitas emphasized that the intervention of authorities cannot, nor should, begin only after aggression, indicating that proactive work to protect health professionals is necessary.
