Artists from Ovar bring "PLEXO" to the Convent of São Francisco

The artists Inês Tartaruga Água and Xavier Paes, from Ovar, present at the Convent of São Francisco in Coimbra the sound exhibition "PLEXO", which will be open to the public until this Sunday. The exhibition crosses visual arts, sound and performance, constituting a multidisciplinary artistic proposal.

The Convent of São Francisco, located in Coimbra, serves as a hosting space for this exhibition which brings together two artists from Ovar in a collaboration that explores different artistic languages. The presentation takes place during this weekend, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the fusion between sound, image and performance.

The exhibition "PLEXO" represents an innovative approach that integrates multiple forms of artistic expression in a single project. The two artists from Ovar thus bring their work to Coimbra, establishing a dialogue between their local origin and the cultural context of the university city.

Rock City is already ready for Rock in Rio 2026; see images of the event

Rock in Rio 2026 begins this Friday (4th) with more than 100 attractions and an expectation of 100,000 people per day. The festival held a test event on Wednesday (2nd) to prepare the organization of the Olympic Park, in the West Zone of Rio, which maintained practically the same spaces and locations as in 2024. The main novelty is the new Mundo Stage, which now features a large LED screen of 104 meters in length and 31.05 meters in height, totaling approximately 2,400m² of LED screen area — following the trend of international festivals like Coachella and tours by artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. The audience experience will be fully immersive, with each artist customizing the screen according to their will.

LUX Prize 2026 arrives in Tavira with accessible screening of the film "Surda"

The film "Surda", directed by Spaniard Eva Liberdad and winner of the LUX 2026 Audience Award, will be screened this Thursday at the Teatro Municipal António Pinheiro in Tavira during the XII Mediterranean Diet Fair. The screening features adapted subtitles for people with hearing difficulties and Portuguese sign language interpretation, followed by a debate on difference, inclusion, and accessibility.
