Side by side and with no mentions of the crisis: records of the first meeting between Mendonça and Moraes after the Vorcaro clash

The STF ministers ignored on Wednesday the crisis that settled in the Court after André Mendonça removed the secrecy from the Federal Police report that detailed the close relationship between Alexandre de Moraes and banker Daniel Vorcaro. This was the first session of the court after the revelation of the messages sent by the banker to the minister.

The two magistrates appeared side by side in the Plenary, but neither of them made public statements about the case. There were no speeches on the theme, and the ministers dealt with apparent normality two cases involving tax themes that were already scheduled to be discussed in that session.

The PF report, revealed after Mendonça's decision, detailed the relationship between Moraes and Vorcaro, including alleged messages in which the banker would have turned to the minister to try to postpone a Federal Police operation. The messages would also have contained questions such as "do I already have to be out?" and "can you hold it?", suggesting attempts at interference.

Wednesday's session represented a contrast between the tension generated by the disclosure of the report and the calm maintained by the ministers during the work at the STF, who did not publicly address the controversy.
