GLOBO started, this Thursday, a series of interviews with the main candidates for the two Senate Federal seats for Rio de Janeiro. The first interviewed was the candidate from Republicanos, Marcelo Crivella, who is a federal deputy and former mayor of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
In the interview, Crivella said that "the storm has passed" and that he is now back in the political race, in reference to past controversies during his term as mayor.
The candidate is betting on mobilizing the evangelical vote as a strategy to win one of the seats in the Senate. During the interview, he avoided making attacks or criticisms against the Supreme Federal Court (STF), adopting a more moderate posture towards the court.
