Flavio's campaign will moderate AI use even after TSE decision and bets on old Bolsonaro images for association

oglobo3 September 2026 at 07:31

Flavio Bolsonaro's campaign (PL-RJ) decided to maintain a cautious stance in the use of artificial intelligence to explore the image of former President Jair Bolsonaro, even after the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) rejected on Tuesday the application of a fine for the display of a video that simulated a statement by the former president. The candidate team's assessment is that the TSE's decision is restricted to the case judged and does not eliminate the risk of new pieces being questioned in Electoral Court.

To keep Bolsonaro present in the campaign, the team intends to rely mainly on images, videos and old statements from the former president. The material has already been used in electoral time and also in montages shown at events, as a substitute for new recreations through artificial intelligence.

An example was published by Flavio Bolsonaro himself on Tuesday on Instagram. The candidate recovered a clip of an interview with Bolsonaro from February 2025, in which the former president appears crying. The strategy aims to associate Bolsonaro's image with the campaign without resorting to digital recreations that may generate new legal questions.
