A cold front advances through Brazil this Thursday, causing increased cloud cover and isolated rain in parts of the Central-West, Southeast, and Northeast regions. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the cold air mass associated with the system should reduce temperatures during the night, mainly in the highland areas of the Southeast region.
There is possibility of frost formation in Serra da Mantiqueira, between the borders of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro, as well as areas of southern-central and Campos Gerais of Paraná. Meanwhile, intense heat continues in the interior of the Northeast, with temperatures that can exceed 40°C, reaching up to 41°C in some locations.
In the Southeast region, the influence of a high-pressure system favors cloud formation in eastern São Paulo. Inmet alerts to the sudden temperature changes caused by the passage of the cold front, especially in the high-altitude areas of the Southeast.
