Nepal asked DNA samples from families of missing Portuguese women

The Nepalese Government asked Portugal for DNA samples from the families of the two missing Portuguese women in the country. This request comes within the scope of the investigations to try to identify the bodies found last week in the Sunkoshi river, in the Makwanpur region. The Nepalese authorities stated that the remains belong to two foreign women, but the identity has not yet been confirmed. The two Portuguese women had been missing since the beginning of October, when they were last seen in the Chisapani area, also in the Makwanpur region. Portugal is now awaiting the results of the DNA analysis to confirm or exclude the possibility that they are the two Portuguese tourists.
