The municipality of Mirandela delivered 140 bags of feed, totaling 4,200 kilograms, to livestock farmers in Vila de Ouro for feeding sheep and cattle. The delivery aims to support farmers whose feed resources were compromised due to the destruction of pastures following wildfires.
According to the local authority, in a social media post, this measure comes within the framework of supporting affected farmers, aiming to minimize the impact of pasture loss and contribute to food security and animal welfare.
The municipality also states that it will continue to monitor the situation and assess, in coordination with local entities, the needs of the affected livestock farmers, seeking to find appropriate responses to the consequences of wildfires in the area.
This support comes in response to the impacts of wildfires on the livestock sector, seeking to minimize the difficulties faced by farmers and ensure better conditions for animal feeding.
