The abusive parking on Gago Coutinho street in Viana do Castelo, namely on the sidewalks, led the City Council to proceed, in August 2023, with the placement of flower boxes to stop illegal behavior.
After the installation of the flower boxes by the municipality, the situation improved significantly for a long time.
For some time now, there has been a very frequent occurrence of motorists moving the flower boxes to benefit the illegal parking of vehicles.
Given the lack of respect and common sense of motorists, the article calls for more enforcement by the competent authorities. The photographs were taken in September 2026 and published by the account @olharvianadocastelo.
