Diocese of Viana issues alert about fake emails circulating

The Diocese of Viana do Castelo issued an alert about fraudulent emails that are circulating in the name of Bishop João Lavrado. The institution reported that email messages sent from the address [email protected] have been detected, in which someone is impersonating the Bishop of Viana do Castelo.

The Diocese clarified that this email address is false and has no connection to the Diocese of Viana do Castelo or to Bishop João Lavrado.

As a security measure, the Diocese asks anyone who receives these messages not to reply, not to click on any links sent, and not to share any type of personal data. It is also recommended that recipients mark the message as fraud or phishing in their respective email service.
