Croatian striker Arnel Jakupovic is set to leave Osijek for a transfer to Vitória de Guimarães. The information was first reported by Croatian website Germanijak.hr, which states that the deal could involve a sum in the region of 600 thousand euros, although the transfer has yet to be officially confirmed.
Jakupovic received other offers in recent weeks, namely from Greuther Fürth of Germany and NK Celje of Slovenia, but is said to have chosen the project presented by Vitória SC. Born in Mistelbach, Austria, the forward also holds Bosnian nationality and this season has scored two goals in four games for Osijek.
Throughout his career, the player has played for clubs such as Maribor and Domžale in Slovenia, Sturm Graz in Austria, and Empoli in Italy. He has also represented Juventus' under-20 team, having previously come through the youth systems of Austria Wien and Middlesbrough.
The potential arrival of the forward in Guimarães would strengthen Tiago Margarido's options in the attacking sector, at a time when Vitória continues to prepare for the new season.
