FC Porto-Moreirense: the corridor of players between Olival and Moreira de Cónegos

Moreirense signed two reinforcements from FC Porto before the match between the two teams. Tiago Andrade, a 20-year-old winger from the Olival academy, signed a permanent contract until 2030, with FC Porto retaining 50% of the economic rights. A few days later, Leonardo Vonic arrived, a 23-year-old Croatian striker, on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase option of 1.25 million euros and FC Porto reserving 30% of any future capital gain.

This player flow is not new. Vasco Sousa moved to Moreirense on loan in 2025/26, but suffered a serious injury against Benfica in December, with a fracture of the right leg fibula, and is still in recovery. Rodrigo Conceição also went through Moreira de Cónegos in 2021/22.

In the opposite direction, André Castro, who came through FC Porto's academy, returned in 2024/25 to captain the B team in Liga 2, ending his playing career before becoming assistant to Francesco Farioli at FC Porto's technical staff.

A more historic example is that of Nabil Ghilas, an Algerian striker who stood out at Moreirense with 16 goals in 37 games in the 2012/13 season, before signing for FC Porto, where he scored four goals in 35 matches in a single season.

The Portimão-Lagoa 2027 Mediterranean Beach Games were presented in Taranto, Italy, with the competition taking place between September 11 and 18, 2027, including 14 sports and with sustainability as one of its main flags. Rocha Beach will host the main stadium with capacity for 2,500 spectators and the Opening Ceremony, while Lagoa's Grande Beach will host other sports. The symbol of the Games is a lighthouse inspired by the Ferragudo Lighthouse, which will guide the countdown to the event. Between 800 and 900 athletes are expected, staying in 11 nearby hotels to avoid transport problems similar to those faced in Taranto. The Secretary-General of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games praised the organization's progress and expressed confidence that Portugal will present "the best Games ever".
