The European Union and NATO expressed "total solidarity" with Germany after a hybrid attack attributed to Russia. The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, communicated this position in a message posted on social media.
Von der Leyen revealed that she spoke on Tuesday morning with the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, about the incident. The attack in question occurred at Leipzig airport.
German authorities attributed responsibility for the hybrid attack to Russia, and the German government has taken diplomatic measures in response, including the expulsion of Russian diplomats.
