Shared electric scooters are being removed from Braga. Bolt, currently the only operator of this service in the city, is proceeding to collect existing units from public spaces, in a process that begins today.
The decision comes following a municipal resolution that prohibited the circulation and parking of shared scooters in the municipality. The Braga City Council justified the measure with concerns regarding safety and the organization of public space.
Users of the Bolt platform will be notified about the cessation of the service and may request reimbursement of any funds existing in their accounts. The company is coordinating the removal operation with local authorities.
Braga thus becomes one of the first Portuguese cities to completely eliminate this type of shared mobility, at a time when several municipalities in the country are evaluating the regulation of these vehicles.
