The City Hall of Timon presented a project that provides for the construction of a river terminal on the Rio Parnaíba to carry out the crossing between Teresina, in Piauí, and Timon, in Maranhão. The project is part of a broader urban mobility and infrastructure plan for the city.

In addition to the river terminal, the project includes the construction of a new bus station, integration terminals and a river marina. The plan also includes the implementation of 92 kilometers of bike path in the region.

The main objective is to improve integration between the two neighboring state capitals and facilitate the displacement of the local population. The river terminal should offer a transportation alternative for those who need to cross the Rio Parnaíba.
