The Ponte da Barca Health Center has moved the waiting room to the building's garage during the renovation works, creating a temporary space with stretchers, cardboard boxes, benches and a ticket machine. The solution is generating criticism among some patients, who consider the conditions undignified for those waiting for medical care.
Several patients interviewed by the newspaper expressed displeasure with the situation. one patient considered that the room "has everything bad about it," while another criticized the fact that the change was sudden and poorly planned. There are also complaints about the lack of information regarding the location of the new waiting room and difficulties in parking nearby.
Not all users are totally critical of the temporary solution. one patient acknowledged that better conditions could have been created, but argued that the works were necessary. Another person shared this perspective, stating that they had been attended to normally and considering the discomfort to be temporary.
The expectation is that the temporary space in the garage will only be used during the renovation period, at which time the Health Center will resume operations under normal conditions.
