The PSP arrested three people aged between 17 and 56 during an inspection operation at the railway stations of Queluz-Belas and Santa Cruz-Damaia, on the Sintra Line. The arrests were made by the PSP's Public Transport Security Division, as part of a Special Crime Prevention Operation, and the suspects were arrested in flagrante delicto for possession of prohibited weapons.
A 17-year-old youth was intercepted in possession of a kitchen knife with a 20-centimeter blade and a military-pattern balaclava, which he was carrying inside a backpack, without presenting any valid justification for transporting the objects.
In another incident, a 19-year-old man was detained after officers found a kitchen knife with a 12.5 centimeter blade in his clothing pocket. The third arrest involved a 56-year-old woman, who exhibited behavior considered suspicious in the presence of police and during the security search, a 9 mm caliber ammunition was found in her wallet, belonging to class A and of prohibited use.
The three detainees were formally charged, subject to the respective bail conditions and notified to appear before the competent Judicial Authority, at the Courts of Amadora and Sintra. The weapons, ammunition and other seized objects were sent to the PSP's Weapons and Explosives Unit.
