A cocoi heron (Ardea cocoi) was captured in a hunting scene at the giant water lily lagoon of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. The bird caught a trahira and even tore apart the fish's gill before devouring it. The sighting was recorded by photographer Alexandre Machado.
