The municipality opened the 12th edition of the participatory budget with a total allocation of 280 thousand euros, divided into two components. The largest part, 250 thousand euros, is destined for urban requalification and construction or requalification of public facilities, while 30 thousand euros will be reserved for projects promoting and dynamizing cultural and sports initiatives.
The initiative aims to directly involve the population of Vila Flor in defining the investments to be carried out in the municipality, allowing citizens to submit proposals and participate in choosing the winning projects.
The previous edition had significant participation, registering 3,146 participants and 3,026 voters. Since the first edition, 117 proposals have been submitted, of which 77 reached the voting phase.
In the last edition, the chosen projects focused on inclusion and well-being. In the infrastructural component, the proposal to create an inclusive playground won, while in the cultural and sports section, a project dedicated to well-being practices was selected, including activities such as yoga and meditation.
