The weather forecast for September 1, 2026 covers the municipalities of Mafra, Ericeira, Sintra, Torres Vedras, Santa Cruz and Lisbon, in the Lisbon district. The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere has not issued any warnings for the district.

The forecast indicates that on Tuesday September 1, all municipalities have partly cloudy or partially cloudy skies, with minimum temperatures between 16º and 18º and maximum temperatures between 22º and 27º, and predominantly north wind with moderate intensity.

On Wednesday September 2 and Thursday September 3, the weather gradually improves, with clear skies forecast for Mafra, Torres Vedras and Lisbon on Thursday. Temperatures rise significantly, reaching 39º in Torres Vedras and 38º in Lisbon on Thursday.

Friday September 4 brings partially cloudy skies for most locations, with temperatures dropping slightly and the wind changing direction to southwest in Lisbon and south in Mafra and Sintra.

Tennis ball-sized hail leaves dozens injured and causes destruction in northern Italy

A severe hailstorm with stones the size of tennis balls and violent winds hit northern Italy last Friday, causing major destruction mainly in the city of Cremona, in Lombardy. At least 43 people were injured, about 10,000 cars were damaged, and dozens of buildings had their roofs and windows destroyed. Thousands of trees were knocked down and 12 families had to leave their homes after a building was deemed uninhabitable. Among the damages, at least ten churches were hit, including Cremona's Cathedral, which lost part of one of its towers and had the rose window glass damaged, as well as the Civic Tower, one of the city's symbols. The storm also caused damage in Switzerland and France.
