A severe hailstorm and violent winds hit northern Italy last Friday, leaving a trail of destruction mainly in the city of Cremona, in Lombardy. At least 43 people were injured, about 10,000 cars were damaged, and dozens of buildings had their roofs and windows destroyed. The storm also caused damage in Switzerland and France.

In Cremona, one of the most affected areas, thousands of trees were knocked down and 12 families had to leave their homes after a building was deemed uninhabitable. At least ten churches suffered damage, including Cremona's Cathedral, which had part of one of its towers destroyed and the rose window glass on the facade damaged.

The Civic Tower, one of the city's symbols, was also hit by the storm. The destruction caused by the hail, which reached the size of tennis balls, hit various regions of Lombardy and spread to neighboring countries.
