Diário de Aveiro31 August 2026 at 11:45

The Municipal Chamber of Albergaria-a-Velha will proceed with the expansion and requalification of the local cemetery. The intervention aims to improve existing infrastructure and meet the needs of the population.

The planned investment for this work is around 146.14 thousand euros, plus applicable VAT. The amount represents a significant commitment by the municipality to enhancing public services.

This intervention comes within a broader set of investments that the council has been making in improving the municipality's infrastructure. The requalification of the cemetery is part of a strategy to modernize local public facilities.

House rents can increase up to 2.56% in 2027

Landlords in Portugal may increase rents by up to 2.56% from January 2027, according to the rapid estimate of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) released by the National Statistics Institute (INE). This value represents a slight increase compared to the 2.24% allowed for 2026, reflecting an August inflation of 3.3%. The INE explains that the acceleration of the CPI is mainly due to the increase in fuel prices, with energy products registering a variation of 12.2% and unprocessed food products of 3.4%. The underlying inflation indicator was set at 2.7% in August.
