Caneças "feeds the crowd"

The 22nd edition of the Caneças Soup Festival takes place on September 4, 5 and 6, 2026, at Largo Vieira Caldas (Largo do Coreto), in Caneças, Lisbon district. The event is promoted by the Odivelas Municipal Council in partnership with the Union of Parishes of Ramada and Caneças, with free entry.

The festival brings together the best of regional gastronomy, with emphasis on soups and traditional saloia dishes. In addition to the gastronomic component, this year's edition includes free musical performances, street entertainment, a craft fair, business exhibitions and cultural visits, including to the Interpretive Center of Caneças Waters (CIAC).

Over the three days of the event, the groups Siga a Farra, Bombocas and Maxi perform, providing musical entertainment during the nights. The detailed program also includes a walking tour of Caneças' heritage, historical reenactments by Anzol Castiço – Associação Cultural, and on Sunday a live broadcast from the SIC truck during "Domingão".

"Antígona" closes the stages of the Theatre Festival

The performance "Antígona, La Estirpe Maldita" by the Spanish company closed the stage programming of the 28th edition of the Theatre Festival – International Theatre Festival of Setúbal, presenting an updated approach to Sophocles' tragedy about the confrontation between power and individual conscience. The performance was presented at the Fórum Municipal Luísa Todi, with the presence of councilor Bruno Russo. Over ten days, the festival brought together 23 performances by Portuguese and foreign companies, as well as concerts, cinema, talks and an exhibition. The organization was by Teatro Estúdio Fontenova, in partnership with the Municipality of Setúbal.
