The locality of Vale de Telhas, in Mirandela, celebrated one of the most significant moments of the grape harvest with the holding of a lagarada that sought to recover traditional practices associated with wine production in the region. The initiative allowed ancestral customs that marked the local winemaking history to be revived.
The activity focused on the traditional treading of grapes in rock-cut wine presses carved into the granite rock, structures that preserve production techniques approximately two thousand years old. These wine presses represent an archaeological heritage that demonstrates the long winemaking tradition of the region.
The initiative program ended with a themed dinner, which featured performances by several local artists. The event brought together gastronomy, music, and fellowship, providing a moment of community celebration.
The lagarada allowed new life to be given to the ancestral heritage of Vale de Telhas, bringing the population closer to the practices that shaped the winemaking identity of the community over the centuries.
