Around 60 artists from the Azores and Cape Verde participate in a joint show scheduled for September 5th, in the Cape Verdean capital, Praia.

The event simultaneously celebrates the 50 years of the Azores' Autonomy and the 50 years of Cape Verde's independence, creating a connection between the two regions.

The initiative brings together artists from both territories in a show that aims to strengthen the cultural and historical ties between the Azores and Cape Verde.

The event is part of the celebrations that mark these two important anniversaries for the Azores and for the Cape Verdean nation.

The initiative ended with a themed dinner and performances by local artists, bringing together gastronomy, music, and fellowship in preserving the memory and winemaking traditions of the region.

September brings music, dance and a White Party to Moncarapacho

The Casa do Povo do Concelho de Olhão, in Moncarapacho, promotes throughout September the Matinés Seniores, four afternoons of music and socializing for the senior population, always at 3:00 PM. The program starts on the 6th with Ritmos do Sul, continues on the 13th with Sérgio Conceição, and on the 20th a special edition dedicated to the White Party takes place, animated by Marco António, under the motto "Dress in white and bring your sparkle!". The initiatives end on the 28th with Mário Dias.

Rock em Podence Brought New Sounds to the Land of the Caretos

The village of Podence, in Macedo de Cavaleiros, received on August 28 and 29 the first edition of Rock em Podence, a festival that combined alternative music, culture and the tradition of the local Caretos. For two nights, Largo da Feira hosted concerts by various bands, including Seventh Plague, Pica & Trilha, Crianças ao Poder, Parede Sem Fachada and Mata-Ratos, as well as DJ Mazeda. Through the streets of the village, the Batuqueiros do Entrudo and the Caretos animated the initiative, which also featured a rural market, crafts and spaces for socializing. The festival thus sought to promote and disseminate Podence's cultural heritage, bringing it closer to different audiences through music and other cultural expressions.
