Benfica are analyzing Spanish options to replace Dodi Lukebakio, with Sergio Arribas emerging as one of the names referenced by the encarnados management. The 23-year-old player, who preferably operates as a right winger but can also play as an attacking midfielder, has been on the club's radar for some time.
Gustavo Puerta is another name flagged by Benfica, and the pair could quickly move from referenced players to concrete targets. However, the intention to proceed depends on the ability to close the exits of players with weight in the squad, namely Richard Ríos and Lukebakio himself.
The attacking midfielder position is one of the areas on the pitch where Marco Silva has acknowledged having few solutions currently, so Arribas could offer an alternative for two different positions in the encarnados starting eleven.
Despite the demonstrated interest, there is still no formal offer from Benfica to Almería, the club for which the Spaniard scored 26 goals in the 2025/26 season.
