China is rapidly expanding a secret air base in the northwest of the country, in a remote area of Xinjiang, near Lop Nur. This facility, which has been compared to the famous American Area 51, serves to test experimental platforms and next-generation combat aircraft. The base features one of the longest runways in the world, at approximately 5 kilometres.
Recently, new Chinese stealth fighters have already passed through Lop Nur during their test flights. Now, the detection of four large hangars at the base has raised suspicions that the facility may be preparing to test the H-20 stealth bomber, one of the most anticipated military projects by the People's Liberation Army Air Force.
