The European Commission presented a proposal to reinforce the social rights of workers who move between countries of the European Union. The objective is to facilitate the recognition of professional qualifications and combat cross-border labor abuses.
The initiative covers mobile workers within the European space, that is, those who carry out professional activity in different EU Member States.
The proposed measures aim to guarantee greater protection and fairer conditions for these workers, addressing issues such as precariousness and labor exploitation that can occur when workers cross borders.
The economic benefits of this proposal are estimated at six billion euros by 2040, with the initiative expected to contribute to a fairer and more functional labor market in the European Union.
