Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), stated on Tuesday that there is a "parallel PF" operating in the country and that members of the Court are targets of monitoring. The statement was made during a clash in the plenary about the Federal Police's actions and the decision by Minister Alexandre de Moraes to remove the corporation's director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, and the Intelligence director, Leandro Almada.
The PF's actions became one of the points of greatest tension in the session that was convened to discuss the investigation involving messages attributed to Alexandre de Moraes found in banker Daniel Vorcaro's cell phone. Before Mendonça's statement, Minister Gilmar Mendes made harsh criticisms of the decision that removed members of the federal corporation's leadership.
Gilmar Mendes stated that, from his experience as a magistrate, he had already expected a reaction to the measure taken by Moraes against the Federal Police directors. Minister Mendonça completed his speech warning his colleagues that no one would be safe from monitoring.
