Juntos Pelo Povo considered positive the 870 thousand euro support announced by the Regional Government to alleviate the impact of the rising fuel costs on fishing, aquaculture and fish processing. This measure aims to support professionals in these sectors given the increase in fuel prices.
However, JPP criticized the way the PSD/CDS-Madeira executive presented this measure. According to the party, the Regional Government has been making "political exploitation" of the measure, presenting it as its own achievement when, in reality, it is framed within the MAR 2030 program.
The support is funded by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (FEAMPA), with national financing. That is, it is not an exclusive initiative of the Regional Government, but rather a measure inserted within a European and national financial framework.
The matter was news in DIÁRIO in the Monday print edition.
