Chega's parliamentary group in the Madeira Legislative Assembly demanded clarification from the Regional Government regarding the management of IHM – Investimentos Habitacionais da Madeira. The party raises questions about the criteria for the allocation of housing units, the inspection of housing, and compliance with the requalification works in social housing neighborhoods.
Chega's parliamentary leader, Hugo Nunes, made these statements on Wednesday morning, reporting alleged situations of opacity in tender procedures. The party points to an alleged "lack of control" in the region's public housing.
Among the concerns raised by Chega are the criteria used for the allocation of housing, as well as the inspection of housing already allocated. The party also questions compliance with requalification works in social housing neighborhoods managed by IHM.
Chega therefore demands that the Regional Government of Madeira provide clarification on these matters, calling for transparency in the management of the body responsible for public housing in the region.
