The Portuguese Communist Party considered the situation of students who remain without a place in schools unbelievable, holding the Government responsible for the failure. The party submitted formal questions to the Education Minister, Fernando Alexandre, demanding explanations about the situation.
The PCP's initiative comes following reports from families who cannot find places for their children in educational establishments. The party believes that the Executive has an obligation to guarantee access to education for all students.
The communists want to know what measures the Ministry of Education intends to take to solve the problem and ensure that no child is left without a place. The formal questions to Minister Fernando Alexandre aim to obtain concrete answers on the matter.
