Pizzaiolo Danilo Jander Francisco Alves, 26 years old, remains in critical condition at Hospital estadual Azevedo Lima after being shot in the head during a police approach in Icaraí, Niterói, in the Greater Rio de Janeiro Region. The shot was fired by a sergeant from the Shock Police Battalion (BPChq), who was working for the Segurança Presente program. The agent was arrested at the scene.
The young man was riding his motorcycle along Rua Mariz e Barros, on his way to the restaurant where he works, when he was approached by the officers. A security camera captured the moment Danilo slowed down and the agents approached. The entire scene, from the moment he braked until the shot, lasted only five seconds.
The young man's father contested the police's version, stating that Danilo was wearing a helmet during the approach. According to him, the protective equipment was left at home with the bullet hole. The family awaits more information about the case while the young man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
