Municipalities across the country will receive 285 tractors to reinforce rural fire prevention. The total investment is 27.5 million euros, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), and the equipment should arrive in September.
The minister of Agriculture, Luís Planas, acknowledged that the tractors should have arrived earlier, using the expression "better late than never" to justify the situation. The official reinforced the importance of this equipment for fire prevention in rural areas.
The tractors will be distributed across all municipalities in the country, covering the entire national territory. This investment is part of a broader strategy for preparing for the fire season.
