The new dry dock at the Viana do Castelo shipyards is now operational. The infrastructure was inaugurated on September 7, the date on which the first vessel entered to use the new facilities.
The first ship to benefit from this infrastructure was SEFU, which measures 117.3 meters in length, 9,259 GT, and has a draft of 4.65 meters.
The investment in the new dry dock exceeded 24 million euros, having been assumed by the concessionaire WestSea. APDL, the Port Administration of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo, was the entity responsible for marking the start of operations of this infrastructure.
