Madeira begins the week under yellow and orange warnings due to intense heat, according to the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). The North Coast and Porto Santo are under yellow warning, while the South Coast and Mountainous Regions of the island are under orange warning, due to persistently high maximum temperature values. The warnings remain in effect until 6 PM on Tuesday.
In the Azores, the weather will be more unstable, with periods of rain and wind over the coming days. The week begins with distinct weather conditions across the two Portuguese archipelagos.
While Madeira remains under the influence of high temperatures, the Azores will be affected by greater atmospheric instability, with the passage of frontal systems bringing precipitation and wind.
Forecasts indicate that heat will continue to be the main weather feature in the Madeira archipelago during this Tuesday, before a drop in temperatures expected for the following days.
