Messages with authorities, Master contracts and party videos: what STF ministers may find in Vorcaro's cell phone

The Federal Police delivered to the offices of Ministers Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin and Gilmar Mendes, all from the Supreme Federal Court (STF), copies of all the material extracted from Daniel Vorcaro's cell phone, from Banco Master. The phone was seized during Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates a billion-dollar financial fraud scheme, in November last year.

The content of the device has already generated an unprecedented crisis in the Supreme Court. Minister Mendonça removed the secrecy, at the beginning of the month, from a PF report that indicated that the interlocutor of a series of messages sent by Vorcaro via WhatsApp was Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

The dialogues between Vorcaro and Alexandre de Moraes are among the main elements analyzed by the Federal Police. The device may contain more conversations with the minister, in addition to messages with other authorities, Master contracts and party videos.

The expectation is that the complete material will help clarify the relationships between the banker and STF ministers, as well as possible irregularities involving the financial fraud scheme investigated in the operation.

Why this matters

The delivery of Vorcaro's cell phone material to STF ministers occurs amid an unprecedented crisis in the Supreme Court, after revelations about alleged communications between the banker and Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The files may contain relevant evidence about the billion-dollar financial fraud scheme investigated in Operation Compliance Zero and possible irregularities involving authorities from the country's highest court.
