A wildfire broke out this Monday, September 14, in Alvito da Beira, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova. The fire started at 4:05 PM, with the first alert recorded at that time.
The firefighting operation mobilized, during the afternoon, 402 operatives supported by 123 vehicles and eight aerial resources, according to data available at 4:35 PM.
According to information provided at that time, the incident was still ongoing, and it was not possible to determine the affected area or the severity of the situation.
The incident occurred in the district of Castelo Branco, a region traditionally vulnerable to fires during the summer months and early autumn in Portugal.
