In April, the aircraft carrying Bravo, the pilot's code name, was hit and shot down by enemy defenses in Iran. The incident forced the two crew members to have to eject immediately from the small aircraft.
Bravo, a United States fighter pilot, survived the incident and recounted the experience after being shot down. According to his account, when he looked up after ejection, he did not see the parachute working properly.
The parachute did not fully open during ejection, which caused a free fall instead of a controlled descent. This fact made the incident even more dangerous for the crew.
