André Pereira de Braga was the best placed Portuguese athlete in the 2026 Porto Half Marathon, finishing the race in sixth place in the men's overall standings with a time of 01:04.14. The runner from Braga thus managed to surpass all national competition present at the event.
The race was dominated by Kenyan athletes, who occupied the top podium positions. In addition to the heat, participants faced adverse wind conditions in the city of Porto, known as Invicta, which affected the performance of several athletes along the course.
This performance highlights André Pereira as one of the leading names in Portuguese athletics today, achieving a significant result in a major international competition, even in the face of unfavorable weather conditions and strong international competition.
