The Futuro + Presente CLDS 5G program from Mangualde managed to reach approximately 1700 people in a period of six months. This Local Social Development Contract program is developing various actions in the municipality with the objective of promoting the well-being and quality of life of the population.
The main areas of intervention of the program focus on active aging and promoting the autonomy of the senior population. These themes concentrate much of the activity developed, responding to the specific needs of a territory with particular demographic characteristics.
The local context is fundamental to understanding the relevance of this initiative. In Mangualde, approximately 30 percent of the population is 65 years or older, which represents a significant share of residents. This demographic reality justifies the focus on actions aimed at seniors, seeking to ensure that this segment of the population maintains quality of life and autonomy.
