GNR from Ponte de Lima recovers goods and arrests young man for trafficking

The Guarda Nacional Republicana established two suspects, aged 19 and 21, as part of an investigation into a residential burglary in the municipality of Ponte de Lima. The operation was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Arcos de Valdevez on September 10.

The case originated from a report received on September 8, regarding the theft of a wallet from inside a residence. The situation worsened when there was improper and fraudulent use of one of the stolen bank cards.

The GNR military personnel carried out police procedures that allowed them to quickly locate the two suspects. Following the action, the wallet, documents and bank cards were recovered, already returned to the legitimate owner, as well as a significant part of the stolen money.

One of the young men was arrested in the act for drug trafficking during the operation.
