The Brazilian women's volleyball team secured their spot for the Los Angeles-2028 Olympics by defeating Argentina 3-0, with scores of 26/24, 25/19 and 25/16, this Sunday, at Maracanãzinho. With this victory, Brazil won the South American Championship title and qualified for the next Olympic Games. The public attended in large numbers at the arena, which was packed, and the fans celebrated throughout the match.
With the title, Brazil finished undefeated and at the top, accumulating 15 points. Captain Gabi was the top scorer of the final with 13 points, followed by outside hitter Julia Bergmann with 12 points, and opposite Tainara with 11 points. Brazil joins Turkey (Europe), Egypt (Africa), Thailand (Asia) and Canada (North and Central America) among the teams already qualified for the women's volleyball tournament in Los Angeles.
On the podium, the Brazilians wore glasses with Olympic rings and were accompanied by Rosamaria, who attended on crutches after getting injured during the competition. The fans cheered coach José Roberto Guimarães' name during the celebration, which continued after winning the South American title.
