"Increase the projection of the 'International Biennial of Arts and Crafts' within and outside Portugal"

The first edition of the International Biennial of Arts and Crafts took place in Castelo Branco on September 4th and 5th, at the Centro de Cultura Contemporânea, bringing together representatives from Portugal, Brazil, and Cape Verde. Promoted by the City Council, the initiative sought to bring together heritage, creativity, and cooperation within the framework of the city's integration into the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, in the category of Craftsmanship and Folk Arts since October 2023. The program included roundtables on local identity, creative economy, and the Embroidery of Castelo Branco, with the participation of the Director-General for the Arts. The organization made a very positive assessment of public attendance and the quality of the interventions, highlighting the visit to MUTEX – Museum of Textiles. The exhibition "The Embroidered World by Hand" brought together pieces from Portuguese municipalities, Brazil, Cape Verde, and the Azores, with municipalities expressing interest in hosting the exhibition. The responsible person Sónia Abreu stated that the goal is to increase the national and international visibility of the Biennial and use it as an instrument for the enhancement of the Embroidery of Castelo Branco.

Grape and Wine Festival comes to the center of Borba with new format in 2026

Borba's Grape and Wine Festival will have a new format in 2026, bringing part of the programming to the city center during the first two days, near the Town Hall, while the rest remains at the Events Pavilion. EXHIBITION "DRAWINGS OF THE DOURO" BRINGS TOGETHER MORE THAN 80 WORKS BY ANTÓNIO MODESTO AT THE DOURO MUSEUM

The Douro Museum hosts until September 21 the exhibition "Drawings of the Douro", by artist António Modesto, which brings together more than 80 works produced over the last five years, mostly in crayon.
