The artistic residency RAS#9 took place at the Centro Cultural Regional de Santarém (CCRS), with the participation of ten artists: Ana Marta Teles, Daniela Monteiro, Filipa Carmo, Helena Mendes, Iacuba Camará, Luis Garza, Marisa Murtinha, Nuno Labau, Sílvia Ferreira and Vânia Jorge.
The RAS project was born about nine years ago, created by João Maria Ferreira, Elias Rodrigues and the then president of the CCRS. It is an initiative that promotes artistic creation in the region.
The title "Culture Doesn't Ask Permission" suggests that the residency positions itself as an affirmation of the importance of culture, which does not need authorization or approval to exist and manifest itself.
