MOTELX ends 20th edition with awards for Nordic cinema

MOTELX, the horror film festival in Portugal, celebrated its 20th edition. The festival ended with the traditional awarding of the Meliès d'Argent, the prize that distinguishes the best European horror feature film.

The winning film was a Danish production set in the Faroe Islands during the 19th century. This was the second victory for a Nordic film at the festival, following the triumph of an Icelandic film in the previous edition.

The festival also took the opportunity to pay tribute to two important figures in cinema. Solveig Nordlund and Julie Corman were the personalities honored in this special edition of MOTELX.

DURIAL CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA CLOSES SUMMER PROGRAM WITH CONCERT AT RIO TEIXEIRA RIVERSIDE AREA

The Durial Classical Orchestra closed yesterday the summer cultural program at the Rio Teixeira Riverside Area, in Mesão Frio, with an outdoor concert that marked the end of a week of musical activities in the municipality. During their stay, the musicians performed for users of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, at the weekly market and at the Mesão-Frienses Meeting, culminating with a tribute to local artist Marante. The summer season officially ends on Sunday, September 13, with the closure of Bar dos Moinhos.
