The sculpture "Parênteses", by artist Carlos Vergara, will be transferred from the Bosque das Artes at Bondinho Pão de Açúcar Park to Flamengo Park. The work, created for the first edition of Projeto Maravilha in 2024, will be installed for one year in an area of the landfill next to the Assador restaurant, facing Pão de Açúcar.
The transfer is part of the expansion of Projeto Maravilha into public space. Conceived by Fabio Szwarcwald and with curatorial direction by Ulisses Carrilho, the project brings large-format works to emblematic landscapes of Rio de Janeiro, bringing together contemporary art, nature, and urban landscapes.
The inauguration is scheduled for Sunday (13th) at 11am and will feature a presentation by Cacique de Ramos. The installation takes place during the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the project or of the city, as indicated by the article.
