The Mais Alentejo Awards are back to distinguish talent, excellence and the work developed in the Alentejo region across various areas, from culture to tourism, through innovation and society. Organized annually by the Mais Alentejo magazine, these awards highlight projects, people, businesses and initiatives that contribute to affirming and enhancing the Alentejo.
The Gala of the Mais Alentejo Awards 2026 is scheduled for September 19 and will have the Castle of Alandroal as its backdrop, bringing together nominees and various personalities linked to the region. Voting to elect the winners ends this Sunday, September 13, at 11:59 PM, and can be done through the official website of the initiative.
The Awards cover 18 distinct categories, spanning areas such as tradition, heritage, gastronomy, oenology, olive oil, art, literature, music, cinema, television, journalism and innovation. Among the nominees are chefs, restaurants, accommodation establishments, wine and olive oil producers, artists, writers, musicians, actors and media professionals, all with connections to the Alentejo region.
The initiative aims to give visibility to the best of what is done in the Alentejo and to recognize those who, through their work and dedication, contribute to the development and promotion of the region. Among the nominees are projects such as Ovibeja, the Chocalhada de Sábado de Aleluia, the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa, Oliveira da Serra and figures such as writers Domingos Amaral and Isabel Zambujal, as well as professionals such as journalist Fátima Campos Ferreira and actors like João Catarré and Dalila Carmo.
